Jeremy Theobald is an actor and producer, known for Following (1998), Tenet (2020) and Convergence (2019).

Jeremy was born in Chatham, Kent in England and moved to London when he was 18. He first attended St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School, then later University College London, where he studied for a BSc (Hons) in Physiology.

Jeremy was an active member of the UCL Drama Society and became President. He produced, directed and acted in numerous plays in UCL’s Workshop Theatre and larger, Bloomsbury Theatre.

It was at UCL where Jeremy met Christopher Nolan, who was President of the UCL Film Society. They collaborated on the short film Larceny, which was shown at the Cambridge Short Film Festival. Chris asked Jeremy to co-produce his first feature film, Following, and take its lead role, which was written for him. Along with Emma Thomas, Chris and Jeremy made Following for about £4000 over the period of a year, shooting only on Saturdays. It premiered at the San Francisco Film Festival in 1998 where it was bought by Peter Broderick of Next Wave Film. Peter took the film to the Toronto Film Festival where it was sold for theatrical distribution in the USA, France and the UK.

Jeremy, Chris and Emma collaborated again on Batman Begins, and last year on Tenet.

Jeremy linked up in 2018 to produce and act in Convergence with director, writer and DoP, Steve Johnson. Convergence is available on Amazon Prime in the USA and UK, and on Vimeo on Demand elsewhere.
